Local medics confirm that 12 Palestinians were killed in three separate Israeli strikes in Gaza. A video, released by residents, shows the family’s apartment on fire overnight in the western al‑Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza City.

The brother of Firas al‑Masri told the BBC he and his wife Salsabeel were burnt to death, along with their son Naim and daughters Faryal, Salma and Amira. The Israeli military says each target was a Hamas operative, and is still investigating the outcome of the attacks.

In addition to the family loss, another four people died in an Israeli air raid on a home in the al‑Samar area of central Gaza City, and two more were killed by a drone strike on a vehicle in the al‑Zahra area, according to Palestinian medical sources. The Israeli army has not yet commented on these incidents.

Since the ceasefire in October, at least 1,168 Palestinians have been reported dead in Israeli attacks, while Israel reports four soldiers killed. The UN’s human rights office condemned the recent intensification of Israeli military strikes, citing concerns over possible war crimes.

Between 13 and 20 July, 57 Palestinians, including six children and eight women, were killed in strikes on residential buildings, a tent camp and other crowded areas. Thirty‑four of these deaths occurred far from the Yellow Line, a boundary separating Israeli‑controlled Gaza territory.
