Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, said Israeli forces captured a senior Hamas member during a raid in Gaza City.
The raid coincided with intense Israeli airstrikes that killed at least two children and a woman, according to local medics, and tragically claimed a third child in a separate incident.
Katz added that Israeli forces patrol the border around Netiv HaAsara with "all‑time" vigilance, claiming the capture signifies a hard‑hit blow to Hamas’ inner security network.
The Gaza war, sparked by the October 2023 Hamas attack on Israel's southern border, has seen over 73,460 fatalities reported by the Hamas‑run health ministry.
