Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, stormed out of a press conference in Bishkek with a cryptic response that kept the UK on edge.
When asked whether Moscow might retaliate against UK military sites for giving the UK weapons to Ukraine, Putin replied, “That’s a secret. A military secret.” The answer wasn’t a yes or no, it was a subtle warning that pulls the West into a guessing game.
The statement deepen the sense of psychological pressure, with Putin looking to keep Britain frustrated while nudging it to slow down its “support for Ukraine.”
The tone wasn’t limited to the UK. Putin spoke of Western “sharks” chasing Russia and, later, used imagery of killer whales tearing polar bears to justify the war.
Reports show the pattern extends beyond Russia’s own borders – Germany says the last month’s drone attack at Leipzig airport was a Russian operation, and Moscow called the scene “clearly planted evidence.” That ripple could affect the UK as well.
Even though the war has lost millions of lives and sapped Russia’s economy, Putin remains adamant that the enemy will collapse, meanwhile looking open to talks with former Trump envoys like Jared Kushner.
