The United States has resumed striking Iranian targets this week, marking the latest flare‑up in the already volatile drama between the two actors over the Strait of Hormuz.
Central Command’s claim is that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard tried to attack commercial shipping and U.S. forces in the area, prompting the latest offensive. The U.S. forces say they attacked at 12:00 ET (16:00 GMT) after a list of Iranian violent moves, according to an official statement.
Iranian state media reports four projectiles hit the Chabahar and Konarak counties, while several explosions were also heard on Qeshm Island, Konarak and Bandar Abbas. The U.S. says these were defensive strikes in response to an eight missile launch at a U.S. base in Jordan.
