\Bus crash kills 16 on Egypt’s Red Sea coast
\At least 16 people have been killed in a bus crash between Dahab and Nuweiba in the South Sinai governorate, the Egyptian health ministry said.
\Another 28 people were injured, and up to 20 ambulances rushed to the scene to give first‑aid and evacuate the wounded.
\The cause of the crash is still unknown and authorities are still investigating.
\That stretch of highway is a major tourist corridor, drawing visitors from around the globe each year.
\Road accidents are a significant problem in Egypt – the country recorded almost 6,000 deaths in 2025, with many blamed on reckless driving and inadequate road maintenance.
\Just a month before, a collision between two lorries in the north‑eastern Ismailia governorate claimed 18 lives and left 30 injured.
\Authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution, especially in busy tourist areas, and to keep emergency numbers handy.
