At least 22 people have been killed in a bus crash on Egypt’s Red Sea coast, the health ministry says.
The incident occurred on the road between the popular tourist towns of Dahab and Nuweiba in the South Sinai governorate on Wednesday morning.
Reports indicate that about 10 of the victims were Jordanian nationals who were traveling for tourism.
The cause of the crash remains unknown, with officials still investigating what triggered the accident.
In total, 28 people were injured and are being treated in three different hospitals across the region.
Road accidents are a major concern in Egypt; authorities recorded nearly 6,000 fatalities in 2025 alone, often attributed to reckless driving and inadequate road maintenance.
Last month, another serious incident in Ismailia governorate saw 18 people killed and 30 injured when two lorries collided.
