Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy Jared Kushner sat down with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a bid to restart the stalled US‑backed peace plan for Gaza after recent talks with Hamas.

Netanyahu’s office said the two agreed that Israel would not rebuild Gaza without Hamas’s complete disarmament and a phased Israeli troop withdrawal. Hamas, meanwhile, has pushed for a domestic committee to oversee destroyed weapons to prevent future use.

The meeting followed a rare call between Kushner and a delegation led by Hamas’s new leader Khalil al‑Hayya in Egypt. Former UK prime minister Tony Blair and Israeli president Isaac Herzog have joined the Board of Peace, reflecting the international push for peace in the region.
