In brief

On Wednesday, Brussels hosted a meeting that brought together the EU, the U.S., Ukraine, NATO and other allies to discuss a prosperity plan and security guarantees after the war. U.S. officials also announced plans to hold talks in Abu Dhabi this week with Russia to outline post‑war security arrangements.

In Brussels on Wednesday, representatives from the European Union, the United States, Ukraine, NATO, France, Germany, Britain and the World Bank gathered to discuss Ukraine’s post‑war reconstruction and prosperity plan. The Executive Body of the European Commission hosted the session following earlier talks in Miami.

European Commission spokeswoman Paula Pinho told reporters that the meeting would build on the Miami talks and aim for a lasting, sustainable peace in Ukraine. She also said the Commission would be represented at the national‑security adviser level, but did not name the official.

"So tomorrow the European Commission will host a meeting with representatives from Ukraine, from the United States, France, Germany, the UK, NATO and the World Bank and this meeting will build on earlier talks that took place in Miami," Pinho told reporters.

U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said on social media that U.S. negotiators would meet with France, Germany, Britain, the EU and NATO in Brussels this week to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine, Europe’s post‑war security architecture and economic opportunities to support reconstruction.

"The United States will bring together delegations from Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi on November 10‑11 to discuss ending Moscow’s war in Ukraine, post‑war security agreements and de‑escalation," Witkoff added.

Allied representatives highlighted the need for a “prosperity plan” that would secure economic and social recovery for Ukraine. NATO spokesperson Allison Hart confirmed that NATO delegates would meet the same coalition in Brussels later this week to discuss bringing a just and lasting end to the war.

The meeting therefore serves as a follow‑up to Miami, bringing together the EU, U.S., Ukraine, NATO and key European allies to coordinate security guarantees and a framework for rebuilding Ukraine after the conflict.
