The United Kingdom is stepping up its support for Ukraine just before President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to London. Prime Minister Andy Burnham, who took office last week, said the UK’s backing is "unwavering, shoulder to shoulder – and we will not back down until we achieve just peace for Ukraine".
The two leaders will tour a naval base where Burnham will reveal that the UK will share the intellectual property behind the Stone Cloak electronic‑war system. This tablet‑sized jammer blocks drone detection and is already in thousands of kits supplied to Ukrainian forces. The technology is expected to be integrated into Britain’s next‑generation weapons, including low‑cost cruise missiles under Project Brakestop.
The tour also includes a meeting with more than 200 Ukrainian sailors who have been training on the UK’s “Sea Breeze” maritime exercise—designed to boost fighting skills and counter‑mine measures in the Black Sea.
It marks the first official visit by a UK prime minister to Ukraine since the 2022 invasion began, underscoring the strong relationship between the two countries. Britain’s total aid reaches £25 billion, with new tech transfer potentially changing the battlefield dynamics in the region.
