In brief

Kazakhstan plans a $115 billion Data Center Valley that will reach 1GW capacity by 2029, with an estimated $3.1 billion in annual export revenue. The project’s first phase launches three centers totaling 304 MW in 2027. Subsequent phases will add up to 1GW, positioning Kazakhstan as a major digital exporter.

Cz R about new Data Center Valley in Kazakhstan. Xinhua reported on November 6 that the project could bring about $3.1 billion in annual export revenue.

The 20‑year plan will cost roughly $115 billion, a figure estimated by KPMG for the entire lifecycle of the data centers.

The first phase will see three facilities come online in the second, third and fourth quarters of 2027. Their combined capacity is 304 MW, with individual sizes of 68 MW, 164 MW and 72 MW.

Later stages of the project have already signed basic agreements for 480 MW of capacity, and negotiations are in progress for an extra 240 MW, meaning the valley could ultimately handle 1 GW by the end of 2029.

The main goal is to boost Kazakhstan’s technology sector. By adding a network of servers and GPUs, the valley could become a regional hub for data processing, giving the country a new stream of export income.
