Australian police have just unearthed unseen images from the investigation into the 2001 murder of British backpacker Peter Falconio, a case that still haunts families and the nation today.
The photographs capture Bradley Murdoch, the convicted killer, in a stark point‑of‑view shot, as well as moments of Joanne Lees—Falconio’s girlfriend—displaying trauma after the attack. These images are part of a broader tranche that includes the abandoned orange VW Kombi van and crime‑scene shots.
The release comes as NT Police Commissioner Martin Dole emphasizes that the case is far from closed: a reward of up to A$500,000 is still offered for any information that leads to Falconio’s body. "His cowardly silence has denied his family the closure they deserve," Dole said.
