On the 25th anniversary of the brutal 2001 murder of 28‑year‑old travel blogger Peter Falconio, Australian police finally released shocking body‑cam footage that shows Bradley Murdoch – the man who ate up hours and almost made it out of the outback with Falconio’s body – being asked to name the hiding spot.
The clip was taken in June 2025, as a police officer tried to break the silence that had swallowed a nation for years. In the video, the officer says, “I need you to have a think about if Peter Falconio was your son Quinton, and somebody knew something about where his body was.” The question was aimed at Murdoch, who had just been given a life sentence for the murder.
French‑born Falconio had been on a road trip across the Northern Territory with girlfriend Joanne Lees when he was shot dead by Murdoch on a quiet stretch of highway near Barrow Creek. Lees was kidnapped but miraculously escaped by hiding in scrub for hours before two passing men stopped and helped her escape.
Murdoch, a 44‑year‑old from Huddersfield, England, was captured in 2005 at a petrol station and never found the body. The new body‑cam footage is the first time he was confronted about the missing remains, offering new clues to solve a mystery that has haunted Australia for two decades.
