In brief
In a recent survey, 15% of Singapore’s services firms foresee a more favorable business outlook and 21% are optimistic, while only 6% anticipate a decline. All sectors within services expect improvement, and a net 16% anticipate a revenue rise in the last quarter of 2026.
On Monday, the Singapore Department of Statistics released the results of a business expectations survey that showed a majority of services firms in the country expect business conditions to improve between October 2026 and March 2027.
A net weighted balance of 15 % of firms anticipate a more favorable business outlook, while 21 % are optimistic and only 6 % expect conditions to worsen, the department said.
Importantly, every industry within the services sector—ranging from finance to tourism and logistics—reported a forecast of improved conditions over the measured period.
When asked about operating revenue, 16 % of firms in the weighted survey expect their revenue to rise during the last quarter of 2026, reflecting confidence that the positive business environment will translate into higher earnings.
These figures suggest that Singapore’s diverse service economy, which is a pillar of the nation’s GDP, is riding a wave of confidence as global markets recover and domestic demand remains resilient.
