In brief
Dubai International Financial Centre announced partnership with Japan to grant up to 6,000 startups access to its innovation ecosystem amid Dubai Future Finance Week. The move follows the announcement of the Dubai FinTech Stack and a report projecting the global fintech market to hit US$1.5 trillion by 2030. The partnership seeks to boost collaboration, investment and international expansion for both sides.
Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) announced a partnership that will give up to 6,000 Japanese startups direct access to its innovation ecosystem during the second day of Dubai Future Finance Week on 3 November 2026. The deal opens new opportunities for collaboration, investment and international expansion for companies in both Japan and Dubai.
Dubai Future Finance Week highlighted Dubai’s fast‑growing fintech and AI scene, noting that more than 2,000 companies specialising in artificial intelligence, fintech and innovation are now operating within the DIFC ecosystem. It also launched the Dubai FinTech Stack, an integrated infrastructure aimed at helping emerging financial technology businesses establish, grow and expand internationally.
During the Dubai FinTech Summit, Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer of the DIFC Authority, said that surpassing 2,000 companies is a significant milestone in the Centre’s development. He noted that the vision for the organisation was launched in 2016 and the FinTech Accelerator began in 2017 with just 11 startups. “The centre has grown into a comprehensive ecosystem that brings together innovative businesses, financial institutions, investors and specialised talent,” Amiri added.
In the same event, the Digital Economy 2.0 report was released, projecting that the global fintech market will reach US$1.5 trillion by 2030. The announcement is part of the Dubai Economic Agenda, which seeks to position the city among the world’s top four financial hubs.
