The exact location of William Shakespeare's only London property has been identified on a street in Blackfriars, following the discovery of an unknown floor plan. Shakespeare expert Professor Lucy Munro from King's College London determined the location and size of the property he acquired in 1613. Previously believed to have retired soon after buying the house, this find suggests Shakespeare may have spent more time in London than initially thought. The historic blue plaque for Shakespeare on St Andrew's Hill is now confirmed to be directly on the site of his London house. Munro found three documents, including two from the London Archives and one from the National Archives, which provided vital information. Notably, one of these documents was a plan from 1668 detailing the size and location of Shakespeare's residence, believed to have been substantial and close to his workplace at the Blackfriars theatre. These insights help paint a fuller picture of Shakespeare's time in London.
