In a quiet Dordogne village, French police officially charge a 70‑year‑old woman with the 2025 murder of 65‑year‑old Karen Carter, a British‑South African mother‑of‑four.
Carter was found near her car, her body covered with multiple stab wounds. Her husband, Alan, learned of the tragedy only after a cousin posted in a local Facebook community page.
The prosecutor’s office says the judicial inquiry opened on 7 May 2025 and, according to Judge Jacques‑Edouard Andrault, the evidence led to formal charges against the suspect.
