In brief

U.S. forces fired precision munitions at the stern of the commercial cargo ship M/V Huda, forcing its crew to abandon the vessel and disabling it in the Gulf of Oman. The ship, flagged by Saint Kitts and Nevis, had tried to leave Iranian waters after visiting an Iranian port and ignored warnings to stay within the blockade. CENTCOM says the action is part of a broader effort to restrict Iranian maritime activity, following earlier interdictions of other Iranian‑linked vessels.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said Saturday that U.S. forces disabled the Saint Kitts and Nevis‑flagged cargo ship M/V Huda in the Gulf of Oman after the vessel tried to breach a naval blockade.

According to CENTCOM, a U.S. aircraft fired precision munitions at the ship’s stern, rendering the vessel inoperable and forcing the crew to abandon the ship’s targeted areas.

The M/V Huda had left an Iranian port and was attempting to depart regional waters, but its crew ignored repeated warnings and attempted to cross the U.S. blockade against Iran.

CENTCOM’s statement was released at 7:11 a.m. UTC on Nov. 7, 2026, and included that the U.S. has since redirected 147 commercial vessels and disabled five merchant ships that refused to comply with the blockade.

It also noted U.S. forces have destroyed ten Iranian commercial oil tankers, which CENTCOM said were linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The operation occurs amid continued tensions between the U.S. and Iran, with U.S. forces seeking to limit Iranian maritime trade and movement.
