In brief
Computer‑assisted telephone interviewing found Lee Jae‑Myung’s approval at 45.6 % and disapproval at 53.8 %【1】. An automated response system survey widened the gap, with approval at 39.4 % and disapproval at 59.7 %【2】. Support for the Democratic Party and the People Power Party both fell in the week before the polls.
A new poll published on Saturday shows that more South Koreans disapprove of President Lee Jae‑Myung’s administration than approve, with disapproval at 53.8 % and approval at 45.6 % according to computer‑assisted telephone interviewing by domestic pollster Flower Research.
The automated response system survey gave an even wider gap: approval was only 39.4 % while disapproval reached 59.7 %, a 20.3‑point difference.
Support for the two main parties also slipped. The ruling Democratic Party fell 0.7 percentage points to 41.2 % in the CATI poll and 1.6 points to 38.1 % in the ARS poll. The opposition People Power Party slipped 0.9 points to 35.8 % in the CATI data and remained unchanged at 41.9 % in the ARS results.
These numbers suggest a tightening race for public backing as voters become less enthusiastic about both the government and the opposition.
