On November 4, 2026, Prince Faisal bin Badr bin Jalawi, governor of Badr Province, officially launched the “Professional Volunteering – Professionals” project. The event was held at the provincial government headquarters in Badr and drew key figures such as the Secretary General of the Tawqeen Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship Society, Abdulaziz Al-Maqnas, the Society’s board chair, Dr. Shahad Suleiman, and the manager of Medina’s Social Development Center, Maha Al‑Faied.
The project’s goal is to promote a culture of professional volunteering and to leverage the skills of qualified professionals to create high‑quality volunteer initiatives. By integrating expertise from fields such as engineering, law, and medicine into civic projects, the initiative seeks to deliver sustainable community benefits and to boost the capacity of local non‑governmental organizations.
During the launch, Governor Badr highlighted how the project would provide structured programs and mentorship for volunteers who bring professional knowledge to social development. He emphasized that this approach would help produce more impactful programs, strengthen the role of the private sector in community service, and foster long‑term social change in the province.
The announcement received positive comments from the Tawqeen Society, which argued that innovation and entrepreneurship can thrive when paired with volunteering. Meanwhile, Medina’s Social Development Center manager noted that the project will help local NGOs to better utilize professional expertise and expand their outreach to underserved populations.
With the “Professional Volunteering – Professionals” project, Badr Province aims to set a national example that combines professional skills with altruistic work, ultimately leading to stronger, more resilient communities across Saudi Arabia.
