The 63‑year‑old U.S. President’s $10 bn defamation lawsuit against the BBC just got a new lead judge. Trump‑nominated Jeffrey Kuntz swapped places with Judge Roy Altman on the case, which centers on how a Panorama episode cut and edited Trump’s speech from January 6, 2021.

Kuntz was confirmed last month as a federal judge for Florida’s Southern District after a close Senate vote. Prior to his appointment, he served on the Fourth District Court of Appeal, where he helped Trump win the Pulitzer‑Prize lawsuit about the New York Times and Washington Post reporting.
