The deceased were Junior Cee Niko Semo, 19; Carlos Israel Sanchez Villalba, 44; and Ashley Whitehead, 56. Villalba’s fundraiser called him a devoted husband, loving father of three, and a loyal friend who would do anything for anyone. Whitehead was remembered as a lover of life, art and family, having recently moved from Alabama.

Police suspect the youngest victim was involved in the gunfight, with one suspect in custody and another at large.

The shooting, which took place on the final day of the three‑day free festival that attracts about 350,000 visitors, has left the community shocked and underscored the rise in gun violence in the Pacific Northwest.
