Indonesia’s immigration office banned two Dutch friends after their run club allegedly rejected Indonesian members and ran without permits. The group, called Entourage Bali, hosted a disco run that faced backlash over exclusivity. The ban follows growing tensions between digital‑nomad expats and locals on Bali’s tourist island. Immigration officials say the event violated laws, and the governor vowed stricter enforcement.

Indonesia's immigration office banned two Dutch nationals for organising a run without official permits and allegedly rejecting Indonesian participants.

The group, Entourage Bali, promoted a “disco run” that featured many foreign joggers. Online posts claimed the club’s registration system unfairly blocked Indonesians while letting foreign members in.

The banned members are 35 and 37 years old, and they fled to Singapore before the ban took effect. They now cannot re‑enter Indonesia.

Bali’s governor warned of stricter action to keep illegal commercial activity in check. Immigration chief Hendarsam Marantoko called the running club a “state within a state.”
