In brief

New reports show significant increases in incidents relating to online grooming and violence, particularly targeting teenage boys and girls.

Britain's National Crime Agency (NCA) has issued a serious warning about the rising danger posed by online gangs targeting teenagers. According to their latest annual report, there has been a staggering sixfold increase in reports of these dangerous groups, which promote sadistic and misogynistic content. These gangs are not only involving adult members but are particularly focusing on young teenage boys, encouraging them to share disturbing materials and even coercing them into acts of self-harm or violence.Graeme Biggar, director general of the NCA, emphasized that these groups operate openly on popular social platforms, posing a significant risk to unsuspecting young users. Disturbingly, girls as young as 11 are also being groomed into harmful behaviors. The NCA's alarming findings stress the urgent need for awareness and preventive measures to protect young people from these cyber threats.
