The Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Committee is planning an innovative air taxi service to help spectators avoid the city's infamous traffic jams. In collaboration with Archer Aviation, they aim to launch this fleet of flying taxis during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, making travel to event venues a breeze. The service, which operates via a mobile app—much like ride-hailing services—promises short 10-20 minute flights to select destinations. Although the air taxis aren't ready yet, Archer's CEO Adam Goldstein is hopeful for certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) soon.

These electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) taxis, modeled after helicopters but quieter and more eco-friendly, could alter the future of urban transportation. With Archer's Midnight aircraft, four passengers per ride can glide through LA's skies while keeping costs competitive with high-end Uber fares.
