Chris Brown, the 36-year-old American R&B singer, has been remanded in custody following his court appearance over claims of a violent incident at a London nightclub. The alleged attack involved the use of a bottle, which reportedly left music producer Abe Diaw with serious injuries. Brown was arrested at the Lowry Hotel in Salford as he prepared for his upcoming UK tour.
During his hearing, Brown confirmed his identity and his current address as the hotel. District Judge Joanne Hirst deemed the charges of grievous bodily harm too severe for a magistrates' court and ordered the case to be transferred to Southwark Crown Court for a hearing scheduled for June 13.
Fans gathered outside the court to show their support for the singer, illustrating his influence. One devoted fan named Candy, who has followed Brown's career since her teens, expressed her dedication saying she couldn't sleep upon hearing the news and made time to stand outside the court in solidarity.
Brown's tour is set to begin soon, with his first performance planned for Amsterdam on June 8, followed by stops in Germany and more dates across the UK.
