New court documents show that messages between singer‑turned‑suspect D4vd and 14‑year‑old Celeste Rivas Hernandez contained more than friendship chats. The texts, revealed at a pre‑trial hearing, say Celeste was pregnant and had already had an abortion before she was killed.
The exchange started when Celeste, then 13, texted D4vd about her own pregnancy. In a later message, she asked, what if the first abortion didn’t work. The teen texted 19‑year‑old D4vd (real name David Burke) that they were not capable of caring for a baby. D4vd replied that her pregnancy was “mine right.”
Lawyers argue that D4vd’s friendship began online in 2022, when Celeste was 11. Prosecutors say he started sexually abusing her when she was 13 and he was 18. The judge considered whether Celeste could have killed herself, but evidence gathered from D4vd’s iPhone and car shows her DNA on blood found in the house.
D4vd is charged with murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child and vandalism of her remains. He had to cancel a worldwide tour after his Tesla was found empty. The hearings are scheduled to resume Monday, while the rest of the evidence plays into one of the most shocking celebrity trials.
