In the early hours of July 1, a series of petrol‑bomb attacks rocked Thessaloniki. Vagia Nestora, 72, died from severe burns after her apartment was hit. Early in the day, police recovered three explosions in the city. All three happened by 4:35 a.m. They targeted houses of party officials, yet only this home saw serious injuries.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called the attack “murderous and inhumane.” He demanded a united front to ban terrorism. The Counter‑Terrorism Service seized the probe, and no arrests yet.
